Outsourcing

A balanced discussion of some of the key points surrounding the outsourcing of technical positions. This and most of the hype about outsourcing tend to bypass the problems that are inherent in doing it. It's damn hard to manage a software project remotely. Suggesting that programming is a commodity task is a dangerous perspective, profitable for the consulting industry, expensive for the customer, and tragic for the staff programmer losing his/her job.

Tech Articles

Tech Articles A couple new articles on my personal site. Quick code examples for datagrid paging and datagrid sorting in asp.net. Yes it's everywhere, but that's because it's absolutely necessary to have this in the tool box..

Well here we are...

We've moved, the loft is no longer. That may sound sad, but it is definitely not. We're very happy to be out of the place that's imprinted with many unpleasant (9/11) memories.

Now we're in Chelsea in a simple one bed-room apartment leased to us by Alternative Business Accommodations. I'm very impressed so far. Clean, efficient and oddly - more closet space than the huge loft! Very cool. RCN cable modem was hot when we moved in, so there was no interruption to our on-line activity. All in all a good thing.
